![]() “I used Annotating Literary Elements last year with my 9th grader, and it is truly my favorite curriculum I’ve ever used in homeschooling. These elements are also used by authors to explore the artistry of language. Literary elements are writing techniques used to deeply engage the reader in the text. This difficult challenge requires focused attention, comprehension, and analysis-three hard-to-teach language skills. It is used to teach students of all ages to practice close reading and analytical writing. Annotating develops a deeper understanding of abstract ideas and encourages original thoughts.
